FORM
FOR MAGIC LEAP

Team Lead / Project Management / Experience Design
At MIT Reality Virtually Hackathon 2019, we designed and developed FORM for Magic Leap, a multi-sensory, biometric AR game that promoted mental wellness and aimed to destigmatize mental health issues in the millennial generation. FORM AR translates users’ dominant brainwaves (corresponding to particular mental states and experience) from EEG bands into emotions as sentient particles: unique material, sound, and haptic combinations to visualize and touch their own emotions. As part of our final pitch, we included the experience’s imagined branding and potential ad campaigns.
Gameplay: With Magic Leap and a Muse headband, users are prompted to find magical “eggs” throughout the space. Each hidden egg contains a thoughtful prompt that the user responds to outloud or internally, triggering various brainwave activity that have unique visual and sonic personalities. As the user moves around the space, the playful emotion particles collect and float outwards, but never disappear. With every user who plays FORM, the experience becomes additive: we are left with a collective, universal playground of particles, sounds, and thoughts.
